The world of rock has so much to thank for with Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert, which helped rock musicians have a platform to perform all of their amazing songs. Bands such as The Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers Band, KISS, Eagles, The Ramones, Fleetwood Mac Steppenwolf, and many more were the bands who had performed on the stage of this wonderful musical variety show.

Steppenwolf, although short-lived, would go on and produce numerous albums and singles that helped shaped the world of rock. As of today, they have sold over 25 million records worldwide, which is a great achievement, especially that they’ve only managed to be popular for only 5 years.

Starting from the year 1967, they ended in 1972, following a decline in their career. But, seeing the crowd’s longing for their unification and the support they’ve got, Steppenwolf decide to reunite once more in 1974. And what better way to announce that to your fans than with an appearance from a large variety show?

The newly-assembled band is composed of Jerry Edmonton (drums), George Biondo (bass, vocals), John Kay (guitar, vocals), Goldy McJohn (keyboards), and Bobby Cochran (guitar, vocals) performed a 6-song set at the Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert. You can check out their performance below.

The song list is as follows:

“Born To Be Wild”

“Gang War Blues”

Hey Lawdy Mama”

Jeraboah”

“Fishin’ in the Dark”

“Straight Shootin’ Woman”
