No matter how many times we see what people can do with some music, some vintage pop culture, and a good concept in the internet era, it never ceases to astound us. Garren Lazar is at the forefront of it all, with his popular Peanuts music parodies attracting hundreds of thousands of hits to his YouTube account. These videos feature footage of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts gang synced up perfectly to classic rock tunes, earning Lazar both high praise and sheer delight from fans who get to bridge the gap between their childhood and adulthood in a wildly creative new way. Once again, Charlie Brown and company are here to perform their cover of “We Are the Champions” by Queen. This video is embedded for your viewing pleasure.

We’ve already shown you some of the Peanuts Gang’s rock versions, such as James Taylor’s “You’ve Got a Friend,” Rush’s “Closer to the Heart,” and Foghat’s “Slow Ride.” Lazar developed many cover iterations with a wide variety of cartoon characters, including Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang, the Powerpuff Girls, Marvel characters, and the Justice League heroes.

Furthermore, Queen’s “We Are the Champions” is a song from their sixth album, News of the World (1977). It’s one of rock’s most enduring signature songs, and lead singer Freddie Mercury deserves most of the credit. It’s commonly used for stadium performances and anything that has winning elements.
