The stars might have aligned when something historical happened inside the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The phenomenal group the Monkees have come a long way and celebrated the 20th anniversary of their career in music with bombastic concerts that became the hot topic of the town for the whole of 1986.

Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, and Peter Tork may have shrugged the idea for a concert tour first, but with all the love that they received from their fans who fully supported it, it became a reality. Initially planning to perform for 20 tour dates only, it became bigger, spanning to 200 dates in a matter of weeks. That reason alone made the busy bee Mike Nesmith quit the tour albeit he was nothing short of happiness when he joined the initial plans.

Now establishing the dream team, it was a wish come true indeed. With the ample amount of promotional campaign, everyone was psyched to see the actors once more who became huge all thanks to their amusing skits of wanting to replicate the British band The Beatles. They became the biggest grossing tours for this year, with sold-out tickets now and then. But, unlike the Fab Four, the reunion was incomplete most of the time. Until a miracle happened back on the 7th of September 1986 — the quartet is back once again.

The four original members have dominated the stage with classic Monkees’ tunes. Three generations of fans came to watch the legendary rock band that spurred hits such as “I’m A Believer,” “Last Train To Clarksville,” “Daydream Believer” and many more. It was everything that one could hope for, truly.

Watch and be amazed at the Monkees’ 20th-anniversary concert below.
