Among the many highlights of The Blues Brothers’ career was their uniquely remarkable series of performances at the Winterland Ballroom Arena. And since it was the moment when the said arena would close to the public permanently, it’s obvious why it deserves all the love through various acts by the performers for the night.

Among the many highlights of their set was the duo’s rendition to “Soul Man.” Written by Isaac Hayes and David Porter, it was first performed by the duo Sam & Dave. It was said that Hayes wrote the song from the chaos of the Civil Rights Movement in the 60s, where black residents had marked buildings that had not been destroyed with the word “soul.” The song has its own numerous covers, and The Blues Brothers (Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi) were among the line for the greats.
