Rock n’ roll was blessed with the enigmatic performer known as Janis Joplin back in its early days. Joplin was a powerhouse performer, and equipped with the energy of youth, could go on for hours infecting the crowd with her vivacious soul. She sang blues, rock, and soul altogether, with her signature raspy voice driving the crowds wild with revelry. Joplin was first introduced to the masses when she performed at the iconic Monterey Pop Festival with the psychedelic band, Big Brother and the Holding Company. After two albums with the band, Joplin went on to play with the Kozmic Blues Band, and then the Full Tilt Boogie band.

Janis Joplin was shot to superstardom with her phenomenal Woodstock performance, on which she was totally hammered but still soldiered on for an impressive performance, even giving in to the encore request of the crowd. Little did they know it was one of the final major performances of the budding artist.
