‘Tis truly the season to be made a biopic. Actor Johnny Flynn has recently been spotted in costume as the iconic David Bowie, for the upcoming biopic, Stardust.

Movie producer Paul Van Carter took to Instagram and revealed to the world the first peek at the Bowie tribute. Stardust will tackle the story of David Bowie’s 1971 US tour that heralded the creation of his most famous alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust.

The film was announced way back in February, with the main cast being Flynn as Bowie, Jena Malone as Bowie’s first wife, Angie, and Marc Maron as Bowie’s publicist.

Viewers can probably recall Flynn as the main character in the Netflix series, Lovesick, which saw its first feature on Britain’s channel 4. More than this, Flynn is also in music, being the frontman for the Brit folk rock band Johnny Flynn & the Sussex, but it has yet to be determined if he will provide his own vocals for the movie.

Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, has other thoughts regarding the biopic, since it hasn’t been approved by Bowie’s estate. “I’m not saying this movie is not happening. I honestly wouldn’t know. I’m saying that as it stands, this movie won’t have any of Dad’s music in it, and I can’t imagine that changing. If you want to see a biopic without his music or the family’s blessing, that’s up to the audience,” Jones expressed on social media.
