It’s heartbreaking that we never got to see Jim Croce’s career expand over the years. With his sudden death in 1973, the world was left with 7 splendid years of Croce’s artistic expression. But inside that short-lived career, the musician had managed to provide some of music’s well-beloved tracks that will always be remembered for their glory.

As much as we adore Jim Croce and his keen sense of making songs in the studios, he truly excelled the most onstage, with a phenomenal talent to make him shine the most. He released 4 albums and numerous singles in his lifetime (I Got A Name was released posthumously), penning hits such as “Operator,” “Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown,” and “Time in A Bottle.” A video of him performing in an Ireland TV program can be viewed below.

Croce’s 4th album Life and Times gave him the opportunity to promote his material on a European tour. Inside these 23 full and hectic days was the plan to build Croce’s fanbase of the people outside the U.S. Among those that they’ve performed in was Europe’s populous countries: France, Switzerland, Ireland, England, and the Netherlands.

The black-and-white video sees Jim Croce performing 6 songs: “Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy),” “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown,” “Operator,” “These Dreams,” “Speedball Tucker,” “and “You Don’t Mess Around With Jim.” You can watch the amazing performance below.
