Keith Richards Is Ageless As He Performs With The X-Pensive Winos

For the first time in over 3 decades, Keith Richards reunited with his former backing band the X-Pensive Winos for a performance night in New York City. Video of them performing can be viewed below.

The sudden reunion happened during the annual Love Rocks NYC charity concert. Richards, the guitarist of Rolling Stones, was joined onstage with three X-Pensive Winos members: Steve Jordan for drums, Waddy Wachtel for guitar, and Ivan Neville for keyboards. Bassist Charley Drayton is currently doing bass duties for Bob Dylan’s ongoing tour, thus Will Lee of House substituted for him.

Over the years, the Winos members have often shared the stage together, but the charity concert marked the first of all the members to properly join each other in the performances, with the exception of the late Sarah Dash, who died last September 2021.

“We haven’t been together for a while, and I really missed them,” Richards told the audience. With the same vigor and charisma from his younger years, the guitarist rocked onstage like no other.
