Eagles’ Big Announcement – Too Good To Be True?

In an era where it seems like every band is going on a nostalgia tour where they play their most iconic albums in their entirety, it was only a matter of time before a band like Eagles followed suit.

This fall, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, with Deacon Frey and Vince Gill will delight crowds by playing their landmark album Hotel California in its entirety, saving fans from the agonizing “Will they or won’t they?” of figuring out when it’s safe to make a dash for the bathrooms so as hopefully not to miss their favorite songs.

The Hotel California shows mark the first time in Eagles’ career that they’ve attempted to play the full album live in its entirety, but don’t get too excited just yet – there’s a catch.

Taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the shows are only a two night event (September 27 and 28) at the only North American dates Eagles will play in 2019 and what’s more, the band promises to “include an additional set of the band’s greatest hits,” which means if you’re lucky enough to snag tickets you get to hear a fairly broad spectrum of the Eagles’ vast catalog.

A statement on the shows was issued today. It reads:

“For the first time ever, the Eagles – Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, with Deacon Frey and Vince Gill – will perform their iconic album “Hotel California” in its entirety in their only North American performances of 2019. Each night’s concert – Friday, 9/27 and Saturday, 9/28 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada – will also include an additional set of the band’s greatest hits.”

Tickets for Eagles’ Hotel California shows go on sale to the general public this Friday, April 12, at 10 AM PDT.

If you’re an American Express Card Member, you can purchase tickets before the general public beginning next Monday, April 8, at 10 AM PDT. If that’s not enough to get you to head on over to Vegas, the band also promises that a limited number of LaneOne Premium Packages will also be available, which include “amazing seats in the first 3 rows, hotel accommodations, exclusive hospitality events, transportation, preferred entrance and more,” to sweeten the pot.

I mean…if you’re going to go hear your favorite album played live and in full,  you might as well go big!
