Rock artist collaborations always has us giddy, especially ones that happened long ago but have remained in obscurity. Such was the joint effort of legends Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash, way back in one February of 1969. The duo reportedly spent two days in Nashville’s Columbia Studios, but haven’t seen the light of day – until now. As reported by Rolling Stone, this rare session release will be a part of Bob Dylan’s 15th Bootleg Series installment.
Titled The Bootleg Series Vol. 15, the release will feature one and a half discs of pure Dylan and Cash goodness, and is set to be deployed on the 1st of November. The tracks will include “Guess Things Happen That Way”, “Girl From The North Country”, and “Mountain Dew”, along with the Elvis hit “Mystery Train” and six more tracks with rockabilly legend Carl Perkins.
Rare outtakes will also be featured in the upcoming release, specifically from Dylan’s 1967 album John Wesley Harding and 1969’s Nashville Skyline. There are also additional tracks from Dylan’s guesting on the Johnny Cash Show in 1969.
