Audioslave and Soundgarden’s late frontman Chris Cornell surely left a legacy behind him, even in his passing. And we’re not talking about his records from his band life, as this is a more organic, closer to home product of Cornell’s musical influence.

Toni Cornell, Chris’ own daughter, has just released her first ever single. “Far Away Places” was produced by Cornell himself, and is a musical centerpiece of a short film of the same title, which is already screening at numerous film festivals. The story of the film features a young boy from the City of Angels who travels to Tahiti to visit his relatives, only to find out that his younger cousin is being abused. With this message, proceeds of “Far Away Places” will go to the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty To Children.

Toni just turned 15 years old recently, which meant the song was written when she was younger, showing the quality of guidance Chris imparted to her. One might also recall her duet cover for Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” for Father’s Day. Also on 2017, Toni covered “Hallelujah” as a tribute to her father on Good Morning America.
