Watch Why Rick Danko Is Criminally Underrated In 1970 The Band Gig Footage | I Love Classic Rock Videos

The start of a new decade brought different groups to the spotlight that showed promising talents and utmost respect from fans. While most of them got their dues early, for others like the Band, it took a great deal of effort and a whole lot of music to associate success with their name.

Rare footage sprung on YouTube with The Band inside a concert at the Syria Mosque, Pittsburgh, PA, back in November of 1970. The group’s dynamic showed a superbly great orchestration for the performance. But what shone the brightest was the lustrous voice and prominent bass playing of Rick Danko.

Rick Danko deserved a bit more love for a 4-set performance on-stage. He showed everyone that despite not being as groovy and as superior as the other groups on the rise, his significance to the music and his contributions are still worth being called legendary.

Watch and be amazed by the Band’s performance here,
