Watch Steve Perry Surprises American Idol

In the most unexpected way, Steve Perry, one of the greatest singers ever known to man, visited the Top 3 finale of American Idol back in 2018.

The former lead singer of the rock band Journey, best known for their hits “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Faithfully,” “Open Arms,” and many more visited the ABC singing show entitled American Idol, wherein talented singers compete for the glory of being called the greatest. It all happened during the performance of finalist Gabby Barrett, who sang “Don’t Stop Believin’” in front of the judges Katy Perry, Lionel Ritchie, and Luke Bryan. Barrett sang on a high note, the iconic track that will always be remembered by many.

Albeit everyone’s knowledge, Steve Perry was in the audience too, listening to the singer’s performance. The surprise was revealed after the performance when the cameras panned at Perry who was smiling and waving his hands.

Perry got the chance to critic Barrett’s performance, whom he labeled as the “most amazing version” he’s ever heard. The two hugged as they met, and everyone in the audience was flabbergasted with the sudden presence of the legend.
