To date, Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band have become one of the most recognizable supergroups of all, although the band is hardly even a supergroup, but rather a collection of prominent artists playing songs with this legendary Beatle drummer. Starr of course has the perks, because when a Beatle asks for your help, what possible reason would you want to say no for?

The band has experienced eleven significant personnel changes in the long run. First started in the year 1989, Ringo would perform his own songs and the other ones, while the artists in the discussion would also have the limelight all on their own as well.

For the 2nd All-Starr Band tour, Ringo opted to pick these artists to help him:

  • Joe Walsh – guitar, keyboards, talkbox, vocals
  • Nils Lofgren – guitar, vocals
  • Todd Rundgren – guitar, drums, vocals
  • Dave Edmunds – guitar, vocals
  • Burton Cummings – keyboards, guitar, tambourine, harmonica, vocals
  • Timothy B. Schmit – bass, vocals
  • Zak Starkey – drums
  • Timmy Cappello – saxophone, percussion, vocals

The event happened in Montreux, inside a Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Everything that you could ever imagine in a classic line-up is there, and one could easily spot the energetic ambiance that surrounds the whole show. Aside from singing, the whole show was also filled with funny antics, more particularly in this video presented below, Walsh and Lofgren doing an impersonation of Randy Bachman. It was a fun and wild night indeed.

Below, take a look at how fun the video is, with a performance of “No Time.”
