The Dave Clark Five’s induction ceremony was momentous and well-deserved, having been one of the few bands who knocked The Beatles’ chart-topping history while in the height of Beatlemania. The song that helped them reached great heights is their 1964 hit, “Glad All Over,” which replaced the latter’s “I Want To Hold Your Hand” off the UK Singles Chart. They also found success in America when they released their cover version of Bobby Day’s “Over and Over,” which gave the lads a chart-topping hit in the US charts.

So, there’s no doubt that The DC5’s efforts to create something out of anything are definitely worthy of its praise. And when they were given the opportunity to be inducted on the prestigious seal of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, something magical happened that will remain iconic for the rest of the rock and roll history: John Mellencamp, Billy Joel, Joan Jett, and John Fogerty’s classic rendition to the group’s quintessential hit.

The tribute was more than fascinating.  Tom Hanks, who inducted the band, is seen smiling from a distance, seemingly excited about what’s to happen. And in all honesty, everyone couldn’t hide their happiness in this significant moment, really.
