Watch the colorized version of The Beatles topping the bill at the New Musical Express Annual Poll-Winners’ All-Star Concert in 1965. The footage of the concert can be seen below.

Held at the Empire Pool in Wembley, London, it was the third consecutive time for the Fab Four to win an award for the Best Vocal Group. It was a prime moment in history as well: the biggest bands and artists that made our music industry a whole lot better were there. The likes of Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Dusty Springfield, The Moody Blues, Donovan, The Animals, and many more went and performed for the night.

With the 10,000+ screaming so loud you could thank the amplifiers for their existence, it was a perfect time to see these young lads performing while enjoying the rest of the evening. Of course, a year later, they would decide to stop performing in front of the people, opting to use the power of the studio for some creative control. They would, however, get back to their old roots when they did their iconic rooftop concert in promotion for their final album, Let it Be.

But this is the zeitgeist of pop culture in the 60s, and it’s incredibly surreal to see them all together again, goofing around and smiling as they began to make way to become one of the biggest and the greatest bands to ever exist in this lifetime.
