While Fleetwood Mac has had numerous lineup changes and some of them being pivotal moments in their creative run, one cannot deny the shift in direction when the duo of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the band in 1974. This saw the group launch into a commercialized and pop-oriented sound, which also paved the way for greater recognition by the masses.

Stevie Nicks, in particular, was a package deal for the band. With her songwriting skill and hypnotic yet angsty vocals, she was able to pull in a fascination from both musical and aesthetic perspectives.

Below is a video of Nicks being interviewed sometime in 1978 where they just arrived for a concert in Dallas. She was asked by the interviewer on why they were rehearsing, where she responds on the importance of the exercise for their recordings and live shows. Nicks stresses out that keeping in constant contact with the touring aspect of their career was vital to avoid being a studio-only band.

Watch the rest of the interview and be amazed by Nicks’ love for her craft.
