The idea that Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie would constantly be at each other’s throats was perpetuated throughout Fleetwood Mac’s history. Things turned out to be completely different than expected though, thankfully.

The rock and roll world was and remains mostly a male club, but both McVie and Nicks were torchbearers in their own right.

Although they were over 10 years apart in age and had been born on opposite sides of the globe, McVie and Nicks got along well. They relied on each other for encouragement and ideas during difficult times, both personally and professionally. They lived together and spent time just like sisters, and even when tensions ran high amongst the rest of the band members, there was never any animosity between Nicks and McVie.

Even though they were undeniably one of the most successful bands in the history of the world, Fleetwood Mac still had to fulfill their business duties in the industry. Nicks and McVie were chosen to give the wacky energy needed for the band to record a brief happy birthday greeting for the band’s record company, Warner Bros., in 1979. PR had approached the band to ask them to shoot the message, but only the girls were obliged to do so. The film offers a wonderful look into their interaction, capturing all of their true connection as sisters of different blood, as well as their funny humor.
