David Bowie’s upcoming biopic, titled Stardust, has just released its first teaser trailer.

Depicted in the scene is David Bowie (played by Johnny Flynn) in a discussion with his publicist Ron Oberman (played by Marc Maron), as they plan on marketing Bowie and his repertoire in the USA.

Oberman says, “I think you’re gonna be the biggest goddamn star in America.” Bowie, who tries to see through if his publicist was sincere, was responded by Oberman with, “Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fucking minority of one, but all it takes is one believer to change the world, right?”

Producers tout the film as David Jones’ story before he became the shapeshifting rocker everyone came to know and love. A statement says the film “offers a glimpse behind the curtain of the moments that inspired the creation of Bowie’s first and most memorable alter ego, Ziggy Stardust, capturing the turning point that cemented his career as one of the world’s greatest cultural icons.”

Stardust was first announced back in February 2019, where Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, questioned the legitimacy of the project. “Pretty certain nobody has been granted music rights for ANY biopic … I would know. I’m not saying this movie is not happening. (patchhawaii.org) I honestly wouldn’t know. I’m saying that as it stands, this movie won’t have any of Dad’s music in it, and I can’t imagine that changing. If you want to see a biopic without his music or the family’s blessing, that’s up to the audience,” Jones tweeted.
