On April 30, 2024, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is set to honor the legendary rocker Sammy Hagar by presenting him with the 2,779th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. PT at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, recognizing Hagar’s substantial contributions to the music world in the category of Recording.

Star-Studded Accolades

For this special event, Guy Fieri will act as the emcee, and friends like John Mayer alongside Tom Consolo, who has been managing Hagar’s career for many years, will deliver speeches.

Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk Of Fame ceremonies, expressed her enthusiasm for recognizing Hagar. She noted, “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to honor rock legend Sammy Hagar for his contributions to the world of rock and roll music. From his humble beginnings in Fontana, California to strolling the Hollywood Walk Of Fame as a young boy, he has truly come a long way.”

Sammy Hagar’s journey through rock music spans over five decades, during which he has become an iconic figure. From his early days in Montrose to his solo successes and time as the frontman of Van Halen, Chickenfoot, and now The Circle, Hagar has continually impacted the rock scene. His music includes hits like “I Can’t Drive 55”, “Right Now”, and “Why Can’t This Be Love”, helping him sell over 50 million albums worldwide and earn a Grammy Award.

Hagar’s Entrepreneurial and Philanthropic Ventures

Beyond his musical achievements, Hagar is also known for his ventures outside music. After opening his first Cabo Wabo Cantina in 1990 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, he has expanded into a lifestyle brand that includes restaurants, bars, and a line of spirits. Notably, his entrepreneurial spirit shined when he sold his Cabo Wabo Tequila, a pioneering act in the spirits industry. Now, his portfolio includes award-winning spirits like Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum and partnerships producing Santo Spirits and Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktails with Guy Fieri, and his own brewing company, Red Rocker Brewing Co.

Hagar’s philanthropic efforts are as notable as his business and musical ventures. Every year, he donates proceeds from his business ventures, including his latest, Cabo Wabo Beach Club in Huntington Beach, California, to local charities. The new venue will continue Hagar’s tradition of community giving. His generosity extends into his personal efforts too. In 2008, he founded the Hagar Family Foundation and has since donated more than $4 million to local communities. This commitment to giving back is encapsulated in his own words: “It’s where all my drive comes from. I was willing to work hard to ensure I was never poor again. Even now, I can still go to that place and remember that feeling, but now it drives me to want to give back and to show kids that if you work hard, there’s going to be an open door out.”

Hagar’s Ongoing Impact and Future Endeavors

As a celebrated figure, Hagar continues to make his mark. He appeared as a mentor on season 11 of “The Voice” and entertained audiences across five seasons of “Rock & Roll Road Trip With Sammy Hagar.” He also connects with fans through “Sammy Hagar’s Top Rock Countdown,” a radio show syndicated across over 90 U.S. stations.

Looking ahead, Hagar shows no signs of slowing down. This summer, he will be back on tour with bandmates from various stages of his career, including Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham, and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani. This tour promises to deliver exhilarating performances, combining hits from their collective careers including Van Halen and Chickenfoot. Reflecting on the upcoming tour, Hagar shared his excitement: “It’s crazy to think that it’ll be 20 years since Mikey and I played many of these songs with VAN HALEN on the 04′ ‘Best Of Both Worlds’ tour. With Joe on board, we can take a deeper dive into those years which will be really cool for the fans, and us.”

Hagar’s upcoming accolades and continuous contributions to music and philanthropy underscore a career built from passion and persevering through every challenge, making him a deserved honoree on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
