Sammy Hagar, the Red Rocker himself, made waves at Alice Cooper’s Christmas Pudding 2023 concert with a surprise cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb.” Joining forces with Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson, Hagar lent his vocals and guitar prowess to the iconic song for the first time.

Hagar expressed his gratitude to Wilson:

“Last night was the first time I’ve ever played that solo on one of my favorite songs of all time. Nancy Wilson, thank you for letting me sit in with you and for bringing those sweet harmonies.”

Teasing the anticipated duet, Hagar had earlier shared a photo with Wilson on Instagram:

“Always a pleasure hanging out with my long-time friend, the queen of rock, Nancy Wilson. Just finished rehearsing for our duet for Alice Cooper charity event, Christmas Pudding.”

Hagar delivered an energetic set featuring classics like ‘There’s Only One Way to Rock,’ ‘I’ll Fall in Love Again,’ and Van Halen’s ‘Finish What Ya Started.’ He engaged the audience in a lively singalong of ‘I Can’t Drive 55’ and took a moment to apologize for his absence the previous year.

The Christmas Pudding event featured special guests including Quiet Riot, Tommy DeCarlo from Boston, and the Nashville cover band Sixwire. Alice Cooper closed the night with a thrilling performance, focusing on his early ’70s hits and including newer tracks like ‘Lost in America.’

Hagar’s unexpected rendition of “Comfortably Numb” adds a memorable chapter to the Christmas Pudding tradition, leaving fans excited about what surprises future editions may hold.
