Singer-songwriter Rod Stewart has been recently ordered to court after reports of an altercation at a Palm Beach, Florida resort were filed.

In a report by People Magazine, Stewart and his son Sean were among a group of people celebrating the upcoming New Year’s Eve at the posh Breakers resort when the two became agitated when they were denied entrance at a certain private event that was held at a children’s area of the resort’s venue.

In another report by TMZ, things got heated when a security guard put his hand on Sean’s chest and ordered him to stand down. It was at that moment that Stewart’s son purportedly shoved the guard, with Rod himself following it up with a punch to the guard’s “left ribcage area.”

While police personnel rushed to the scene, no arrests were made. However, the father and son tandem was charged with misdemeanor battery and have been ordered to appear before the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Complex on the 5th of February, as the affidavit states.

According to People Magazine’s unnamed source, “It was a brief misunderstanding and neither Rod nor Sean were detained. Apologies were exchanged and there were no injuries.”
