The News We’ve Been Waiting For!

It’s already been three years since the heartbreaking news was broken that AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson had to step down as singer due to significant hearing problems. Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose was brought in to fill his shoes for the remainder of their tour.

Since then, there has been no real word on whether or not Brian would be making any kind of return to the band in some capacity; only rumors and speculation. But last year in August, the rumor fires were fueled by a a tweet that went viral. The tweet was a photo of Brian and drummer Phil Rudd apparently outside of a recording studio with AC/DC…

It was also just recently reported that studio engineer Mike Fraser confirmed that the band was in the studio with Brian. He couldn’t go into further detail as to what capacity he work working with the band in, but a confirmation of studio involvement nonetheless…

Now, according to Eddie Trunk and his reliable sources, it’s been heavily rumored that AC/DC have plans to bring Brian with on their next tour, which is expected to be in support of their new album. Trunk said this to Alternative Nation

“I have sources that told me they are absolutely going to tour with Brian back again. So, that is all unconfirmed from their camp, but I had it with some reliable sources.

“I think it’s pretty much a done deal that AC/DC, at the very least, are going to release some sort of record, and it will be a tribute to Malcolm [Young], like ‘Back in Black’ was a tribute to Bon [Scott].”

Like I said, right now this is just a rumor, but historically speaking, Trunk and his sources are almost always accurate. So time will tell, but my money is on this actually happening…
