“Bridge Over Troubled Water” One Last Time
Legendary singer/songwriter Paul Simon definitely holds a special place in SNL’s (Saturday Night Live) history. Not only was he the second person ever to host the show, but he also gave one of the most memorable SNL monologues ever, the iconic Thanksgiving monologue.
“Paul Simon has hosted SNL four times and been a musical guest eight times, with another five cameo appearances and one filmed cameo over the years.” – Saturday Night Live Wiki
It simply goes without saying that Paul is a pinnacle part of SNL’s history, so it’s only fitting that just after he wraps up his farewell tour, that he bring his legendary career full-circle with a moving performance of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” on a show that he can call home.
Paul took centerstage with a full ensemble to give a riveting farewell performance that no one will soon forget. He and his band performed two songs, those songs being “Can’t Run But” and the aforementioned “Bridge Over Troubled Water”.
As you see from the video below, Paul is truly at home here and the crowd was dead silent for this emotional final performance. Watch below and have tissues ready.
