Neil Young has announced the release date for his long-awaited upcoming album, Homegrown, which will hit the shelves on April 18. He also has four pending archive titles for the entirety of 2020. While Homegrown was already completed in 1975, Young delayed the release by a couple of decades because releasing the album at that time was personally too challenging for him.

On his website, Young wrote: “Homegrown vinyl in the house right now. Finished records. Homegrown is all analog! The purest sound. Hear the vinyl. Get a nice phonograph player. This is the record to do that on! My first ever narration with Ben ‘Longgrain’ Keith and live sound effects. Some beautiful music and fun rocking’ songs as well. This is the one that got away. I am stoked to share this with you.”

Young also announced the release of Return To Greendale on June 19, a live LP recorded with Crazy Horse in 2003 on a full performance of his rock opera, Greendale. Other releases include Archives Volume 2 on July 24, Rust Bucket (a 1990 live Crazy Horse recording), and Young Shakespeare, a solo show from 1971 and set for release this November 27. The Greendale and Rust Bucket titles are also connected to movies, which will probably be available for screening at the same time as its releases.
