Happy Birthday Cliff Burton

Bassist, Cliff Burton, would have turned 57 on February 10th this year. He was a driving force in Metallica and left us far too soon in 1986. Burton was an integral part of the band since his induction in 1982.  His songwriting and bass credits are on the first three studio albums: Kill ‘Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Master of Puppets. Posthumously, his credits are on Metallica’s fourth album, …And Justice For All. In 2009, Cliff Burton, along with Metallica, was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.

On his birthday, the metal world remembered Cliff Burton’s magnetic character with these heart felt and heart dealt posts…

Starting with Metallica:

“Gone but never forgotten!
Happy Birthday, Cliff – we miss you.

One of the most personalized messages came from Anthrax drummer, Charlie Benante, who had this to share:

“Happy birthday to the one and only #cliffburton . He would always come out and headbang during our set. It would always push me harder and make me happy! The famous #pancakes story came from this tour . I always thought Cliff was an artist, a musician, an original ( he wore bell bottoms in a tight pants world) , I think he made that difference in those first 3 albums -miss you bro – Happy Birthday !”
