Journalists Discover Video Of 11-Year Old Prince | I Love Classic Rock Videos

Heads up, Prince fans! Rare footage of Prince came recently unearthed by a group of Minneapolis journalists. WCCO reporters were digging news involving the current teacher strikes in the place when they found this gem.

Finding clips that are worthy to be included from before, they came across one video from April 1970, when the same educators’ strike occurred in Minneapolis. Several kids were also interviewed, including the one who stood out the most because he was jumping – waiting to be interrogated.

Matt Liddy, production manager for the WCCO news, was shocked to find out the weight of his discovery. “I immediately went out to the newsroom and started showing people and saying, ‘I’m not going to tell you who I think this is, but who do you think this?” Every single person he interviewed shouted back: “Prince!”

The news channel brought in experts to extract sound from the video, where an 11-year-old Prince explained to be supporting the strike. “I think they should get a better education, too, because, um, and I think they should get some more money because they [are] working extra hours for us and all that stuff,” Prince said.

The journalists went the extra mile to confirm the identity of the young boy, and would later get in touch with one of Prince’s childhood friends, Terrence Jackson. Jackson also played drums inside Prince’s high school band; Prince’s clip brought him to tears.

“That’s Skipper! Oh, my God!” Jackson exclaimed, using Prince’s nickname.
