The news of Taylor Hawkins’s passing led the world to mourn the loss of a legend. Not just with any rock fan per se, but with all the people who knew and adored the Foo Fighters’ drummer. The Late Late Show host James Corden paid a tribute to Hawkins, in a short clip of his fond memories with him.

Foo Fighters shared the sad news on their Twitter account last March 25, before their anticipated performance at the Festival Estero Picnic in Bogota, Colombia. No cause of death is revealed, although a primary toxicology report revealed that there are 10 substances present in Hawkins’ body, at the time of his death.

Corden opened the clip, saying: “We really want to say and talk about some very sad news. We were all shocked and saddened on Friday when we heard the tragic news that Taylor Hawkins had passed away. You would’ve read things about Taylor, and everything you’ve read is true — he was a bright light. He lit up every room he ever walked into. He was so joyous and full of light and love and all the things that you want in a human being,” he continued.

The video then transitioned around the time when Foo Fighters visited the show, as the musicians plus Corden had fun performing their songs during Corden’s well-known Carpool Karaoke segment. The clip opens up with them going inside a Guitar Center that had a massive picture of Hawkins at the entrance, for the group’s entertainment. Inside the center, Corden and Hawkins approached 2 drum kits, and of course, David Grohl, who established himself as a drummer first, also didn’t miss the chance to join them. The trio playfully tapped their drums with their own formulated rhythm, and a glimpse of Hawkins’ mad drumming ability can be seen right towards the ending.
