Joel’s Residency at Madison Square Garden

Billy Joel is currently wrapping up his impressive residency at Madison Square Garden, a musical journey that commenced in 2014. The residency is set to conclude with the last show scheduled for July 25, 2024.

Reflecting on the unprecedented success of his residency, Joel shared his amazement at a press conference earlier this year, saying, “I never imagined anyone could have a residency here; it’s just been one crazy, exhilarating night after another. We didn’t think it would last 10 years.”

A Tradition of Special Guests

Elvis Costello is part of a prestigious lineup of artists who have made guest appearances during Joel’s MSG shows. The list includes musical luminaries such as Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Jimmy Fallon, Tony Bennett, Sting, and Jon Bon Jovi.

Costello, having wrapped up his engagements for 2023, is gearing up for an exciting start in January 2024 with his upcoming 7-0-7 tour. Joining him on stage will be his talented Imposters bandmates – Steve Nieve, Pete Thomas, and Davey Faragher – along with guitarist Charlie Sexton, a longtime collaborator with Bob Dylan.

In anticipation of the upcoming tour, Costello shared his thoughts, stating, “Remember that this is not just a concert. It is a communion of amorous spirits, an odyssey of pure, unadulterated elation.”
