David Gilmour Shares Acoustic Performance Of ‘Morning Has Broken’

David Gilmour has posted a video of his acoustic performance of the Christian song, “Morning Has Broken”.

The Pink Floyd guitarist dished out the number in a recent livestream event as a part of an ongoing series he calls the Von Trapped Family. In the latest installment of the series, Gilmour and his family celebrate the US release of his son Charlie Gilmour’s memoir, Featherhood.

“Morning Has Broken” became a worldwide hit for Cat Stevens in 1972, reaching the No. 6 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the US Easy Listening chart while simultaneously hitting Top 10 positions in numerous countries.

Pink Floyd released a series of reissued material last fall, which included the restored 1988 live package of Delicate Sound Of Thunder, which had the band do a five-night residency at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, NY as part of their tour commitment in the support of their 13th studio album, A Momentary Lapse of Reason.
