Katie Cassidy Shares Dad’s Final Words

70s heartthrob David Cassidy died last week at the age of 67 after suffering from multiple organ failure, leaving behind a glowing legacy that includes perhaps the most important puzzle piece of all: his children, Katie and Beau. An accomplished actress in her own right and currently starring on hit CW show Arrow, Katie Cassidy, 31, broke her silence following her father’s death last week via Twitter, thanking fans around the world for their love and support during what is understandably a difficult time for the Cassidy family.

Things took a heartbreaking turn when Katie revealed the biggest lesson learned from her father’s passing, turning his final words into a powerful reminder for anyone reading her post.

“My father’s last words were, ‘So much wasted time’. This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute…thank you,” read Cassidy’s note.

Struck by being let in on one of Katie’s most private, precious memories, fans flooded her Twitter to thank her for such an intimate moment, sharing stories of their own lives and how David inspired them to live their lives boldly and fearlessly:

Cherish those words – always. Time is a thief, and the way it sneaks up on us when we least expect it is nothing short of criminal. Seize the day, hug those you love a little tighter, and attack each day like it’s your last. Our hearts go out to Katie and the rest of the Cassidy family during this trying time, and we wish them peace.
