Ace Frehley, the iconic guitarist known for his time with KISS, recently opened up about his experiences with relationships, particularly those involving younger women, during a candid chat with VRP Rocks. In this article, we delve into the guitarist’s reflections on his misadventures in the realm of romance.

Frehley reminisced about a moment during his life on tour

During the one of their tours, he encountered an 18-year-old model in Florida shortly after his divorce from Jeanette Trerotola. Recalling the encounter, he shared,

“I said [to Tod Howarth], ‘We gotta invite these chicks to the show.’ So, we gave ’em tickets. All four of them ended up coming to the concert. We had a great time. They came back to the hotel. I ended up with a beautiful blonde. She took me to her room, and it was magical.”

The guitarist continued by revealing an interesting coincidence in their conversation, saying,

“Ironically, I said to her, ‘Where do you live?’ She goes, ‘I live on 67th Street in New York City.’ I go, ‘Where?’ She goes, ‘Half a block from Central Park.’ I go, ‘I live four blocks from Central Park on 67th Street.’ In my mind, I said, ‘This must be serendipity. Maybe I’m meant to be with this chick.’ Even though she was only 18 years old, and I was 37.”

Despite the initial magic, Frehley’s relationship with the young woman faced challenges.

At the time, he was navigating the early years of his solo career after leaving KISS and releasing his second studio album, ‘Trouble Walkin’.’

“We dated for a couple of weeks, and then I just said to her, ‘Look, why don’t you just move in with me?’ And she moved in with me for about nine months. Unfortunately, I would have to leave to go on tour, and I trusted her in the apartment alone. But when I got back, I heard from friends that she was dabbling with heroin.”

The relationship eventually unraveled, with Frehley recalling,

“She ended up getting involved with the wrong kind of people. So, by the end of that year, I broke up with her, and for a while, she didn’t know what to do. She was only 18-19. So, I put her up in a hotel for a couple of months. Then eventually, she ended up going back to Texas, where she was from. Austin, Texas.”

Frehley’s romantic journey continued with relationships involving younger women in the subsequent years.

In the 2010s, he dated Rachael Gordon, who was approximately 20 years his junior. The aftermath of their breakup in 2019 took a legal turn when Gordon filed for a restraining order against Frehley, alleging threats and intrusion into her home. However,

“The guitarist denied these accusations and said his ex-partner admitted in her deposition that they were untrue. In the end, a San Diego North County judge did not grant Gordon the restraining order.”

Ace Frehley’s candid reflections sheds light on both the magical moments and the challenges he faced in relationships with younger women.
