Bushell is known for covering famous rock songs of old and new and posting it on her Youtube channel, including the Foo’s signature cut “Everlong” just a few weeks ago. She shared the clip of her own drum rendition on Twitter, along with a message for Grohl and his band.

Bushell tweeted: “My dream is to one day jam with Dave Grohl, @taylorhawkins and all the @foofighters! Mr Grohl I would love to have a drum battle with you! I LOVE Everlong it’s really hard to play as it’s so fast but so much FUN!”

Her tweet gained traction in the platform and went viral soon enough, getting more than 2 million views and 32,000 retweets. Just a mere two weeks after she issued the challenge, Grohl responded by accepting the prodigy’s pronouncement.

He said, “I haven’t played that song since the day I’ve recorded it in 1997. Nandi, in the last week, I’ve gotten at least 100 texts from people all over the world saying, ‘This girl is challenging you to a drumoff. What are you going to do?'” Grohl added, “You’re an incredible drummer,” he adds. “And I’m really flattered that you’ve picked some of my songs to do for your videos and you’ve done them all perfectly.”

He then tossed the challenge back to Bushell, wanting to listen to her take on Them Crooked Vulture’s “Dead End Friends.” “Now the ball is on your court,” Grohl said just as he started playing the song on his daughter’s drumset.
