That Escalated Quickly…

Remember when you were a little kid and your parents or grandparents tucked you in on Christmas Eve, your little eyes falling shut to the gentle rumble of someone reading “Twas the Night Before Christmas” to you before you fell asleep? Remember how warm and fuzzy and safe you felt, knowing the story well enough to fill in the gaps but still itching to hear it to its “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!” finale?

Yeah…this is nothing like that.

Black Label Society guitarist and resident bad ass Zakk Wylde sat down and read the classic Christmas poem for Loudwire, decked out in a Santa hat and his usual cut-off denim vest for viewers at home. “Twas the Night Before Christmas” starts off warm and fuzzy and for a second, Wylde’s voice a gentle rumble as he begins the story as we’ve heard it hundreds upon thousands of times throughout the years.

It’s not until you notice some notes he’s written inside the book that you realize things might get a little bumpy, and sure enough they do – staring crazily at the camera, Wylde’s gentle reading of a well loved childhood classic takes a creepy – and absolutely hilarious – turn that’ll make you shake your head and wonder why you ever expected anything else from the legendary Zakk Wylde.

Enjoy, and of course – Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
