Iggy Pop has once again proven to us that age is nothing but a number. On April 27, Pop took the stage with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash on an epic clash of talents at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California. The legendary 76-year-old rocker Iggy Pop was joined by a star-studded lineup featuring Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers on drums, Duff McKagan from Guns N’ Roses on bass, and Andrew Watt and Jamie Hince from The Kills on guitars. Together, they performed “I Wanna Be Your Dog,” a classic from The Stooges, and a cover of the rock staple “Louie Louie” from the 1950s.

The event was captured by fans in a video, showcasing the electrifying performance. Iggy Pop’s latest album, “Every Loser,” marked his first release under a new partnership between Atlantic Records and Gold Tooth Records. The album was executive produced by Andrew Watt, a Grammy Award-winning producer and songwriter. Watt had previously worked with iconic metal artist Ozzy Osbourne on his recent studio albums.

Both Iggy Pop and Watt expressed their excitement and admiration for each other’s work. Pop described the album as a collaboration made in the traditional way, with a group of talented musicians who have been longtime friends. Watt expressed his honor in working with Pop, praising him as a true icon and the embodiment of rock and roll.

Iggy Pop’s remarkable career spans over five decades, starting with his influential band, The Stooges. He blended rock, blues, and free jazz, laying the foundation for genres like punk, post-punk, and grunge. His solo career, which began with the Bowie-produced albums “The Idiot” and “Lust For Life,” continued to push boundaries and inspire generations of rock musicians. Even in recent years, with albums like “Free,” Iggy Pop remains a relentless force in the music industry, constantly evolving and challenging conventions.
