Looking for something nostalgic to remind you of the good ol’ days? Take a look at this rare footage of Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks performing “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” in the studio.

Both are clearly seen doing their best to provide some phenomenal voices for the track, which showed the duo’s sense of professionalism in music. “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” was included in Nick’s debut solo album, Bella Donna.

Nicks first met Petty in 1979, during the recording of Petty’s band, the Heartbreakers, of their album Damn the Torpedoes. She jokingly requested Petty to write a song for her, which didn’t come to fruition until 2 years later, when the Fleetwood Mac singer asked for any updates on their agreement.

Petty was supposed to give the song “Insider” to Nicks, but the latter felt that he loved the song so much. So Petty, in return, wrote “Stop Dragging My Heart” for her, to her adoration.

Nicks, who’s obviously into ballads about heartbreak and love, felt connected to the song. It tells us about a couple and their complicated relationship, with the woman wanting to let go already, and the man who doesn’t want to give her up. This thrilling perspective became what it is today, thanks to the duo’s keen interest on collaborating.
