This Mash-up of Metallica’s One and Wham’s Last Christmas Is A Holiday Treat | I Love Classic Rock Videos

Someone with a penchant for crazy and a copy of Metallica’s anti-war anthem “One” from their 1988 album …And Justice For All has lately developed their own mash-up of Wham’s Last Christmas, which is a true holiday treat.

The unexpected mashup has obviously gone viral, and it is now serving as the background music for many individual Christmas videos made by users of the TikTok app, most of which are of a comic bent.

“One’s” bridge vocals, which include lead singer James Hetfield pounding out the phrases, are used for the production, with the lines: Darkness imprisoning me / All that I see / Absolute horror / I cannot live / I cannot die / Trapped in myself / Body my holding cell.

Meanwhile, the famous synth-laden, bouncy entrance of Last Christmas plays out below, combined making one bizarrely juxtaposed mess of emotions and sound.

But it does work in a roundabout way, and we think it perfectly expresses the sentiment of many who feel trapped by the holidays.

Moreover, a full YouTube video with the two songs being mashed up can be viewed below. Watch it here.
