Take a look at this fantastic duet of Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty of their classic song, “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.” The video can be seen at the end.

Nicks has long been known to have been a fan of Petty and his songs. The artists’ passion for music drove them to form a withstanding friendship, which turned out the best for them, seeing as how great their chemistry sparked whenever the two got the chance to perform at an event.

The Fleetwood Mac singer had only jokingly asked Petty if there’s any way that the Heartbreakers’ leading man could write her a song. Petty wrote “Insider,” but had grown to admire the track so much that Nicks said to him: “You love this so much… you take the song.” Nevertheless, the quest for writing a good song for her still continued. And so, with the help of Heartbreakers’ guitarist Mike Campbell, the duo penned the iconic “Stop Dragging My Heart Around.” Nicks, upon receiving the demo tape, adored it the first time she heard it.

Last October 2021, AXS TV uploaded a clip of Nicks and Petty’s performance of “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” in celebration of the late Tom Petty’s birthday. The video was filmed during The Heartbreakers’ 30th-anniversary tour in Florida. After a short while, Nicks joined the band on stage and then began to rouse the crowd with the phenomenal performance of the song.
