Following Steve Perry’s recent comeback to music after 25 years of isolation and “hiding”, is a stream of a new single from his new album Traces. The song “Sun Shines Gray” was recently streamed as an audio teaser, and is the fourth installment in his comeback catalog.

The ex-Journey frontman shared his feelings about the new track, “I’m very excited about my new single version and mix of “Sun Shines Gray”. The song is more emotionally available and rocks even harder!”

Steve Perry says he recorded the set at his home studio, with the help of co-producer Thom Flowers, only going to Capitol Records to record the string elements.

The new single follows the tracks “No Erasin'”, “No More Cryin'”, and “We’re Still Here”, which have been unveiled in the earlier months. Traces performed commendably, debuting at the 6th spot on the Billboard 200, marking his first US solo album top 10 achievement.
