Let There Be Rock
Last Saturday, on November 18, we lost another icon who didn’t just give us a raw and gritty guitar sound but also founded one of the greatest bands to ever grace rock ‘n roll. Malcolm Young died at the age of 64 years old after three years of battling dementia.
A few hours before Foo Fighters’ tribute, Dave Grohl posted a touching message to Young.
And so, during their set at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico, Foo Fighters launched into an explosive cover of the AC/DC classic hit “Let There Be Rock.” It was a fitting tribute to the axeslinger who devised some of the group’s best-known and most memorable riffs. They performed in front of a giant photo of Malcolm Young.
Young’s musical legacy will remain unmatched and unrivaled. And his influence to other guitarists even more so.
