Sammy Hagar Chills Out and Jam With Cheech and Chong

Watch rock legend Sammy Hagar hangs out with comedy legends Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong in a funny and entertaining episode of Hagar’s Rock & Roll Road Trip.

The duo, known for their stage name Cheech & Chong, became the face of comedy in the decades of 70s and 80s. Their hilarious chops are molded under their portrayal of the hippie and free love movement of the 1960s, to which they made use of their love for cannabis and counterculture to their films, skits, and even their albums.

Hagar claims to have been a “huge fan” of the duo, and his excitement to finally see them up close is invigorating. The host asked the duo their unforgettable experiences of performing in front of thousands of people and their way of writing songs. At some point, Chong shared his own secret of comedy which is to… pause.

“So many comedians get out there and they rattle out their stuff and they don’t pause,” Chong said. “And so the good comedians, they pause every chance they get. Because, not only they’re trying to remember what they’re going to say next, but because it’s effective,” he added. After the talk, the trio then began jamming to some of Cheech & Chong classics.
