Music superstar turned street performer

Rod Stewart goes back to his busking roots for an impromptu street performance at Piccadilly Circus in London. The legendary singer was seen singing his hit “Handbags & The Gladrags” by the statue of Eros with another talented busker Henry Facey on guitar. Stewart is no stranger to taking it to the streets as he started out as a busker in the early ’60s inside London’s Denmark Street guitar shops. Lucky onlookers and passersby were able to witness the moment and were serenaded by one of the greatest crooners of the generation. The busking video is part of a new project which puts music legends as street performers in support of teenage cancer charities.

The Adoration Trilogy’s Searching For Apollo project pictures over 60 musical legends as street performers, and Sir Rod Stewart was once of the first ones to give busking a whirl!
