In case you missed it, Ozzy Osbourne recently had to postpone four concerts until the next year due to three unexpected staph infections in his hand. Ozzy needed surgery and extra time to recover, thus having to postpone those four concerts.
Ozzy is expected to make a full recovery after a successful surgery, but exactly how he got these staph infections is still a mystery. Nevertheless, Ozzy has a theory, and honestly, it makes a lot of sense.
During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Ozzy talked about the infections and the process of getting them treated, and even offered up a theory on how he got infected. Here is what he had to say…
“The doctor said to me, ‘Can you remember talking to someone and shaking hands?’” he recalled. “Well, I do that meet-and-greet at the gig and I must shake fucking 200 hands a day. He said, ‘That explains it.’”
Makes a lot of sense when you think about it. After all, someone as big and popular as him must shake a million hands a year, so who knows?
The four postponed shows have been rescheduled as follows…
July 20 – Las Vegas, NV
July 23 – Chula Vista, CA
July 27 – Mountain View, CA
July 29 – Hollywood, CA
Who knows how Ozzy could’ve gotten these infections? Even if it was for certain a fan that shook his hand, we still don’t know WHICH fan it was nor will we ever, but we certainly hope that this doesn’t happen again so that Ozzy can perform to the best of his ability!
Get well soon, Oz!
