The Best of Both Worlds

Two legendary musicians, two kick ass versions, one song – it’s the best part about music, anything goes. This was so unexpected but nonetheless, we didn’t know we were secretly hoping to hear this cover until the moment we actually heard it. David Gilmour playing his flawless take on “Purple Rain” as he seamlessly blended it with the classic Pink Floyd track, “Comfortably Numb.”

Oh man, the rock gods must be rejoicing!

“When there’s blood in the sky – red and blue = purple… purple rain pertains to the end of the world and being with the one you love and letting your faith/god guide you through the purple rain.” – Prince

It’s a beautiful way to pay homage to Prince and of course, leave it to David Gilmour to take it up another notch. One thing we like about Gilmour is that he always lets the guitar do the talking.
