Joe Gets Candid

It seems like more than anything else people wanna hear what legendary rock artists think of Greta Van Fleet. At this point, they are no doubt one of the biggest bands on the scene. Their signature throwback/Led Zeppelin-like sound has made them the talking point of many rock & roll conversations.

The truth is that they are incredibly polarizing. Fans couldn’t be any more divided on the subject. It obviously goes without saying that some people love them and some people hate them. Regardless, everyone has an opinion on them, including Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliot.

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee recently spoke with ET Canada and was asked if there were any new bands he follows. Greta Van Fleet is one of those bands, and he revealed what he really thinks of them. Here’s what he said…

“Not much. I’ll be honest. But the two obvious ones – there’s Greta Van Fleet, which is the big thing at the moment. Or Greta Van Zeppelin, as somebody’s called them.”

“But, yeah, they sound like Led Zeppelin. So what? When we started out, we sounded like Queen and AC/DC. So, everybody’s gotta start somewhere. It’s okay to wear your influences on your sleeve these days, I believe.”

So there you have it. Joe Elliot is a fan. While many people seem to still like to trash GVF, the band still has many supporters on their side, and now one more that’s a Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer!
