Go Back To 1971 When ZZ Top Took Over Pensacola With Live Performance | I Love Classic Rock Videos

ZZ Top is among the greatest of greats. Formed in the humble bodes of Houston, Texas, the band’s classic line-up consisted of Billy Gibbons (guitar, vocals), Dusty Hill (bass, vocals), and Frank Beard (drums). They’re the rocking trio who doesn’t need a lot of nitty-gritty because they do know how to give the people what they want for a good time.

And during their formative years, the band had to do a lot of gigs to promote their presence in the charts. A gig that they happily did was their 1971 show at the Pensacola Municipal Auditorium in Florida, CA. below, we’ll take heed of how great the trio was at the start of their career.

They did a two-song medley for this set, an original “Somebody Else Been Shakin Your Tree” from their first album, and Chuck Willis’ quintessential 1953 track, “Feel So Bad.” Everyone could feel the mighty energy that this set provides, especially during Gibbon’s killer guitar slides on Willis’ song. Truly, everyone is thankful for these rockers’ contribution to our music. Good times indeed.
