Certainly Not The Response I Would’ve Made…

It was just a few months ago that news made the rounds of iconic guitar manufacturer Gibson being in deep financial trouble. Due to lingering quality control issues and poor investment choices, Gibson found themselves over $500 million in debt, a note that they had to pay by this July. All eyes were, and still are, on CEO Henry Juszkiewicz. As such, the company filed for bankruptcy and are committed to turning the company around 180 degrees.

CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, however, still isn’t buying that the company’s products have quality issues. In fact, during a recent interview with Guitarist Magazine, he summed up this criticism with two short, yet emphatic words. Here is what he had to say.

“To quote some politicians, I would say that’s fake news. It’s easy for people to troll on the internet, but you’re in the media and I think you’re probably more aware than most folks about the negativity that exists and, sometimes, the lack of truth in that negativity.”

So, are there quality issues with Gibson guitars? Well, if you have a few grand to spend on one, pick one up yourself so you can be the judge! Nevertheless, we all sincerely hope that this company makes the turn-around that it so desperately needs!
