George Strait and Willie Nelson onstage together guarantees a great concert. In fact, there’s a video to show how much power this dynamic holds when it comes to performing live.

In April of 2022, George Strait and several of his pals gathered in Austin, Texas to celebrate the opening of the brand-new Moody Center. Lots of fantastic country songs were performed that night, with guests like Willie Nelson and Randy Rogers, but there was one moment that truly stood out – Strait and Nelson’s wonderful duet to a country classic, “Pancho and Lefty.” In case you’re living under a rock for quite some time, songwriter and musician Townes Van Zandt first released “Pancho and Lefty” on his 1972 album The Late Great Townes Van Zandt; Emmylou Harris covered it four years later. Then, in 1983, Willie and Merle released their classic cover of the song as the album’s title tune. Soon after its release, it became a classic of the country music genre and topped the Billboard Hot Country Singles list in the United States.

Don’t worry if you weren’t one of the fortunate few who were able to see Strait and Nelson perform live. You can watch a fan-made video of them performing a duet below.
