2019 will be a big year for grunge rock fans. Iconic grunge band Foo Fighters will be touring with Weezer and Tenacious D. A pioneer in the pop punk industry, Weezer has seen its success in the dawn of the 21st century. Adding humor to the mix is American comedy rock duo, Tenacious D. Comprised of actor and comedians Jack Black and Kyle Gass, the band debuted on 1994 and have since then rubbed elbows with big names in the industry like Pearl Jam, Tool, and Beck. The band is also good friends with Foo Fighters’ drummer and founder Dave Grohl, and has produced music with Grohl on the drums.

The band will start touring on September 28th later this year, with Rio De Janiero as the first stop. They will be part of the well-known rock festival, Rock in Rio, which has had the most comprehensive lineups in rock history. This year, the trio will be playing alongside other big names such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthrax, and Panic! at the Disco, among other artists. After Rio, they will be heading to the infamous Bogota, Colombia and play in the El Campin Stadium on the first of October. Last year saw Foo Fighters’ and Weezer’s collaboration and toured Australia, as a part of the former’s “Concrete and Gold” world tour. In related news, another grunge rock supergroup will be surfacing soon. Pearl Jam and Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron, the Melvins’ Buzz Osborne, and the Foo Fighters’ very own Taylor Hawkins have teamed up for this endeavor.

Meanwhile, Weezer is expected to push out 2 brand new albums after being announced that they are in the works. The band’sĀ Teal AlbumĀ has seen success earlier this year, containing remakes that are faithful to the original material.
