You can never go wrong with a Fleetwood Mac song! Last 2014, Miley Cyrus sang a heartfelt rendition of a Stevie Nicks-penned classic, “Landslide,” and she nailed it.

Cyrus has openly expressed her appreciation to the rock band for years, and in the video, she also reminded the audience of how Fleetwood Mac is “one of my favorite artists.” Cyrus performed it in her 2014 Bangerz Tour, and was also revealed to have sung the song “2 years ago.”

“Landslide” was written by Nicks while being torn between going back to school or continuing to support her and her then-boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham’s music. While in Aspen, Colorado, she witnessed an avalanche at the Rocky Mountains, which resulted in her reflection on the life she was living at that time. It peaked at no. 51 at the US Billboard Hot 100, and is also a staple on every Fleetwood Mac concert.

The mellow acoustic surrounded the whole stadium, and Cyrus’s voice spread like a bird in the sky. It’s bittersweet, pretty much like the way the original Stevie Nicks has sung it, and their similarities in voice could prove that her version of the song is somewhat lovely.

It’s not the first time that Cyrus and Nicks crossed paths, in fact, Cyrus gave another rendition to the song in 2018, when MusiCares inducted Nicks as the Person of the Year. The two also collaborated on the song “Edge of Midnight,” a remix of Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen” and Cyrus’ “Midnight Sky.”
